Pupsicle Fun

Summer has truly hit Michigan.  It was 94 today according to hubby’s car and although not humid as it typically is, it was certainly a bit uncomfortable in the sun.  At least the clothes on the clothes line dried quickly — almost instantaneously.

After a tough day of cleaning and organizing my canning area in the kitchen, hanging laundry in the hot sun, and watering my garden since the weatherman got it wrong again when they predicted rain all day, Bell and I sat on the patio for a sweet treat.

I'm not spoiled -- I'm loved.

You know, grape is my favorite.

This really hits the spot.

Really? The rest is for me. You're too good to me!

Even though my garden didn’t get the rain I was hoping for, it was a great day to hang laundry, hide out in the house in the air conditioning while preparing for the upcoming canning frenzy, and taking a moment to share a popsicle with Bell, and for this I am — Simply Grateful.

    • This past winter was the worst I can remember. When the weather finally broke, which was quite late, spring was short and summer came on quick. I’m not going to complain because all too soon the winds from the north will once again blast down on us, so I’ll enjoy the weather while I can.

    • Still no rain today, but they keep promising. The winds are terrible though. I keep watching my little plum tree swaying and the fruit keeps falling. I know this is all part of the process, but it is heartbreaking to lose even one plum, let alone the many that are falling.

    • Tomorrow I’ll have a few I think. The list keeps growing. Every time I start a new recipe inspiration hits and I add another recipe. I might have to freeze some of my bounty just so I can can it this winter when canning ideas aren’t as bountiful.
