Woke this morning to the first frost for eastern Michigan.

A simple reminder that winter is coming.

Fall never lingers here in Michigan.  One day there are trees full of wonderfully colorful leaves, the next they’re bare and snow is in the air.

Today was a wakeup to enjoy the fall weather as much as I can for as long as it lasts, and for this I am — Simply Grateful.

  1. It has been chilly around here but so far we have avoided frost. With the first frost my big glorious elephant ears flop totally to the ground and the visual dynamic of our garden goes instantaneously to the winter season. I am in no hurry for frost!

  2. No frost here either, but we have had cold rain for days, The forecast for frost is the end of the month so we are not far behind you and I am hopping to enjoy the color of the leaves tomorrow just so I feel like I did not miss anything this year.
